27th Annual Carytown Watermelon Festival This Sunday, August 8!

Now in its 27th year, the Carytown Watermelon Festival is the largest festival of its kind in the United States.  It is also one of the largest one-day local music festivals in the country, with approximately 100+ musical acts in 8 hours on 8 different stages!   Plus lots of watermelon will be on hand!!  Carytown's Mile of Style is just a short walk or drive from Maury Place and is the destination of choice for dining and shopping in Richmond.  Over 2500 watermelons will be consumed and musicians of all sorts will be featured throughout the day.  Over 115,000 folks will be there to enjoy this August Richmond tradition!  In addition to some of Richmond's favorite restaurants, over twenty different vendors will be offering an array of mouthwatering global and local cuisine.  Also drop into any Carytown hotspot for a watermelon inspired cocktail!  Proceeds from the festival will benefit the Shriners Hospitals for Children, the only multi-hospital pediatric system in the United States providing healthcare and treatment free of charge for children up to 18  years old.  Check out for more Carytown information.
