Richmond VA is for Moviegoers!

The Richmond, Virginia area is touting its role in the Steven Spielberg movie, "Lincoln," which has recently opened to widespread critical praise, big box office receipts, and Oscar buzz!  While much of the film takes place in Washington, D.C., many scenes were actually filmed right here in Richmond!

The Virginia Tourism Bureau now offers a self-guided movie trail at virginia.org/lincoln, which highlights film locations--including the Virginia State Capitol, which stands in for the United States Capitol in the movie, and nearby Petersburg, which was a stand in for Richmond! The trail is not just for history buffs. It also includes lists of restaurants, bars, and shops that Daniel Day-Lewis, Sally Field and other members of the cast visited.
